UFC 144 this weekend, and it looks to be a good card. Most main events you can normally pick a winner, but this one is going to be difficult to call. Edgar Vs Henderson, both guys are good on their feet, very good footwork, hard to call a winner.

Anyhow watch the video and enjoy!

Just a few days ago I decided to try and revive this page, and its kind of a good job that I did.

I’ll be starting a new role in work shortly and we will be using some basic linux scripts, so in order to prepare myself for this, I decided to install Ubuntu on one of my machines. Now I want to use a dual boot system so I can keep my Windows 7 as my main OS and Ubuntu as secondary so I can have a play around.

I want to use one of my spare SSD’s for this, so off I went to install Ubuntu, messed up the parition size and it would not install, no problem I thought, so I try to use the Ubuntu disk management software and it does not seem to like the removing and deletion of partitions(I’m sure this easy, I’m just not familiar with it just yet). I screw it up, my machine locks up and not responding, so a hard reset later and now my SSD is not showing up in Windows.

It’s been a while since I messed around with Diskpart, but I know I can figure out what is going on, turns out its quite simple and I even wrote a small update long ago which helped me fix this quite easily.

Thats all I needed to do…easy when you know how.

The fact that I am able to use my own material to help myself is enough for me to keep this going.

I’ve not done anything with this in a while and I’m not sure what I have to say, but I’m determined to get back into the learning groove, and in past years this has always helped me, to write about issues that I’ve come across in the hope that my experience will help others who are having the same issues with their PC Hardware or software, so here goes in my attempt to get back on the learning curve and to share my experiences on the way.

Lets hope I stick with it this time…

It seems someone is spoofing one of my email address to send spam email, as you can imagine this is not cool.

I’m 99% sure this is not coming from my account, as I have changed all my passwords and I do not even use a 3rd party client to send mail, so there is nothing on my PC that is going to sending thousands of mail per day. What is frustrating is that I get a lot of bounced emails back into my spam folder.

I’ve setup email authentication on the domain, to see if this makes any difference and I have been in touch with the host provider, to see if anything can be done. So if you have received an email from this domain and it is spam, please accept my apologies as currently I’m unable to do anything as these people are just abusing my email address.

Initially I was annoyed that I could not find it on any UK channel, and then realised it was on UFC.TV.

So cool, started to watch it and I’m really glad JDS won. Cain was spoon fed the title shot and JDS had alot more tough opponents to get where he did, so really happy that JDS won.

Shame that it only last just over a minute, however there was very little chance of this one lasting 5 rounds.

Time to get some sleep!

Recently I’ve had some issues or I’ve noticed that not all the cores are getting full use on my system, one core was high usage where the others were more or less idle. I found a fix which can help share the work across all the cores on the CPU. This does require changing your registry, so if you break anything, dont be blaming me!

- Go to Regedit
- Select Edit > Find… and find this key: ” 0cc5b647-c1df-4637-891a-dec35c318583 ”
- Within this key, there is a value called: ” ValueMax ” This value represents the % number of cores the system will park
- Change the value of ” ValueMax” to 0 so that, it matches ” ValueMin ”
- You will have to find the key a few times and repeat the process for each time it is found – the number of instances will depend on the number of power profiles in your system. To do this go back up to Edit > Find Next.
- Do a full shutdown and power-off and cold-re-start.

The Result
Better load balancing across all you CPU cores – no spiking – in Windows 7 Task Manager

This game looks awesome.  I had a ton of fun playing Battlefield 2 Bad Company and the Vietnam expansion, and this looks like the engine could blow those away.  Lets just hope the multiplayer experience is just as good if not better, roll on November!

I really would like to keep this page update and doing more with it than I do currently, no excuses, just plain laziness.

The idea behind this site is to keep my brain ticking over and to look for content to talk about and update, but as you can see, nada has been done with it for a while.  I’m starting to get my life sorted out (its taken me long enough), working for a good company and I enjoy my job, which really makes the days go by much quicker.  I’m going to try to make more of an effort to keep this updated, as it helps me learn and gives me something extra to do in the times when I am bored.

Rift – Planes of Telara head start, starts today and while I’ve pre-ordered the game and am very much looking forward to playing it, currently in the endless queue waiting to actually join the server to play the game.  How I hate opening day of any new MMO as its always the same, still I do this every time a MMO is worth playing.  I’ve played the beta and I did have fun trying out the different classes and the dynamic content.  The PvP did not feel to good, but hard to tell at the lower levels, will see how that goes come end game.  The content seems to be pretty well done so far, the plane invasions, are generally well done and alot of fun, but I’m not sure if that will become stale, all I know is so far the large plane invasions are alot of fun and do give out decent rewards in exp and loot in the time spent, making them worth while to level up on.  I just hope this game lasts longer than several months, it does have potential to be a great game, patches, bug fixes and content will be key to its survival, lets hope the developers get that all right.

Currently 401′st in the queue and 2 hours and 32 mins to go until I can play, let the countdown continue…..

Came across another awesome music playlist, plus its free, so cant be bad right?

“Your hand in mine” is an incredible song and I will be looking into and very likely purchasing the album.  The song seriously rocks and I think no matter how angry or troubled you might be feeling this will definitely calm you down.
